Qiang Fu – Biography

Qiang Fu joined King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in 2017 as a Research Scientist at the Visual Computing Center, working with Prof. Wolfgang Heidrich. Dr. Fu received his PhD in Optical Engineering (supervisor Dr. Bin Xiangli) from Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences (now University of Chinese Academy of Sciences) at Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics in 2012. He worked as an Assistant Research Fellow at Key Laboratory of Computational Optical Imaging Lab at Academy of Opto-Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2012 till 2014. After that, he joined the Computational Imaging Group as a Post Doc at the Visual Computing Center, KAUST. In 2016, he joined ShanghaiTech University as a Research Associate Professor in the School of Information Science and Technology. Dr. Fu’s research interestes lie in the multidisciplinary research area of computational imaging, including optical system design, diffractive optics, micro/namo-fabrication, compressive sensing, spectral imaging and applications, remote sensing, etc.
